abstract The surface of a base article, e.g., a roll for use in office automation equipment such as a copier or printer, is coated at least partly with a surface layer comprising a tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene/perfluorovinyl ether copolymer. In forming the coating, the copolymer can be processed at a relatively low temperature in the range of from 150 to 300 °C. The coating is superior in surface smoothness, nontackiness, and wearing resistance to those formed from fluororubber/fluororesin coating compositions.
