A traced line image drawn by a human with a pen is captured by a camera or scanner and fed into a personal computer as an original line image. The personal computer thins the supplied line image and paints all the pixels in the areas enclosed by fine lines with a color specified by the operator. Next, the computer, according to the command of the operator, thickens the original traced lines and colors the pixels on the thickened traced lines with a specified color. The computer combines the images in the areas enclosed by fine lines with the thickened-line image according to a predetermined combining formula. Last, the computer checks whether or not the images generated over several frames are displayed as an appropriate dynamic image. With the image generation procedure, animated color images can be generated quickly by using a computer. |
