abstract An apparatus for delivering an agent directly into a cardiac muscle. The apparatus comprises an elongated member. The elongated member defines a deployment lumen and a distal tip. A hollow needle is configured to be inserted into the cardiac muscle. The needle is operably connected to the elongated member. The needle has a side portion and defines an outlet port in the side portion. First and second electrodes are configured to be electrically connected to a power supply. The first electrode is positioned to be in direct electrical communication with agent flowing through the outlet port.
