Polyoxypeptin and deoxypolyoxypeptin represented by general formula (I): wherein R represents hydroxyl in the case of polyoxypeptin and hydrogen in the case of deoxypolyoxypeptin; which are novel substances having the activity of inducing apoptosis even on apoptosis-tolerant cells and obtained by culturing Streptomyces sp. MK498-98F12 strain. These compounds are physiologically active substances having the activity of inducing apoptosis on human hepatic cancer cells and AsPC-1 cells. |
