A substrate for information recording media manufactured from a glass having a Young's modulus of 100 GPa or above and a liquidus temperature of 1,350 °C or below, in order to overcome the problem that, although a higher rotating speed is required for magnetic disks, an attempt at increasing the rotating speed of a magnetic disk by using the conventional glass substrates for information storing media makes difficult to stably secure the flying height of the disk. |
