abstract |
An AC generator for vehicles which is improved in occupying rate and efficiency and reduced in size and noise by eliminating the interference between the coil ends by forming two-layer coils in slots. The AC generator (1) is provided with a 16-pole Randel-type pole core rotor (3) and a stator (2) having 96-pole tooth sections separated from each other by slots. One conductor section of a U-shaped conductor segment (33) is housed in an outer layer section of a predetermined slot and the other conductor section is housed in an inner layer section of a slot formed at an interval of an electrical angle of 180°. The conductor segment (33) which is housed while all slots are divided into the inner and outer layers is connected only on one end face side of the stator (2) and a total of 12 wave winding coils are formed. A three-phase stator coil is constituted by connecting the wave winding coils in series four coils by four coils. |
