| abstract |
An advanced video and audio interface for a computer is disclosed. The interface comprises an interface device and an interface cable. A system employing the interface comprises a host device, a remote device, and the interface cable disposed between the host device and the remote device so as to communicate data from the remote device to the host device and instructions from the host device to the remote device. The remote device is capable of transmitting data over the interface to the host device and comprises the interface device, a video data scaling device, a video data compression device, an audio data analog to digital converter, and an audio data compression device. The host device is capable of transmitting data over the interface to the remote device and of selectively configuring each of the video data scaling device and the video data compression device over the interface. |
