abstract |
A method is provided for the synthesis of an oligomer on a solid phase support using a submonomer solid phase chemical synthesis technique. The method entails a recycling step wherein unused reagent is returned to a reagent vessel after a displacement step has been carried out with the reagent, and by-product contaminants are optionally removed from the recycled reagent using a suitable scavenging agent. Also provided is an apparatus for conducting the methods of the invention, which apparatus includes plumbing and containment means for carrying out the synthesis and recycling steps. |
