abstract The invention concerns a method for treating dicotyledon seeds containing guar gum, which consists in an abrading step wherein the cotyledons are superficially abraded to eliminate therefrom an amount of matter not less than 2 %, advantageously 4 %, preferably 5 %, and not more than about 40 %, advantageously about 30 %, preferably about 20 % of the total volume of dicotyledons. The invention is applicable to hydrocolloids.
