abstract | A process for producing a high yield of 1-chlorocarbonyl-4-piperidinopiperidine or hydrochloride thereof by highly safe, easy operation. This process is characterized by reacting 4-piperidinopiperidine with a trialkylsilyl halide to give a 4-piperidinopiperidinyltrialkylsilyl, reacting this compound with carbon dioxide to give a 4-piperidinopiperidinyltrialkylsilyl carbamate, reacting this compound with thionyl chloride to give 1-chlorocarbonyl-4-piperidinopiperidine hydrochloride and, if necessary, treating this compound with a strong base. |
