abstract | A cross-linking rubber composition comprising a highly saturated nitrile copolymer rubber, a metal salt of an α, β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, and an organic peroxide, wherein the copolymer rubber has a Mooney viscosity of 5 to 135 realized by reducing the viscosity by at least 15 points by applying a high shearing force thereto in the presence of an antioxidant, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 3.0 to 5.0, and a Mooney viscosity increase of not larger than 10 points realized by leaving the copolymer rubber to stand at room temperature for 30 days after the reduction of the Mooney viscosity. Rubber materials (such as belts, rolls and hoses) obtained by cross-linking this composition have improved strengths. |
