abstract Agricultural/horticultural germicides characterized by containing 6-(nonsubstituted or substituted) phenoxypicolinic acids represented by general formula (I) as an active ingredient wherein R is a halogen atom, a C1-C4 alkyl group, a C1-C4 haloalkyl group, a C1-C4 alkoxy group, a C1-C4 haloalkoxy group, a C1-C4 alkylthio group, a C1-C4 alkylamino group, or a C7-C8 aralkyl (C1-C4 alkyl) amino group; n2 is an integer of 0 to 3; Y is a C¿1?-C4 alkyl group, a C1-C4 haloalkyl group, a C1-C4 alkoxy group, a C1-C4 haloalkoxy group, a C1-C4 alkylthio group, a C1-C4 haloalkylthio group, or a halogen atom; and m is an integer of 0 to 5; provided Rs and Ys may be the same or different respectively when m and n?2¿ are 2 or above. Such compounds are useful as active ingredients contained in agricultural/horticultural germicides having excellent effects on a wide variety of plant diseases.
