The present invention relates to the use of biodegradable polymers of general formula (1) wherein A means the residue of a natural or modified castor oil; X<1> and X<2> mean individually ethylene or propylene; n<1> is a whole number from 1-150; n<2> is a whole number from 0-150; Z<1> stands for -CO(CH<2>)qCOOM, -COCH=CHCOOM, -COCH2CH(SO3M)COOM, -COCH(SO3M)CH2COOM or -COC6H4COOM; Z<2> has one of the meanings of Z<1> or stands for an acyl radical of an unmodified or modified natural resinic acid, wherein one of the radicals Z<1> and Z<2> can also mean hydrogren; Z<3> stands for an acyl radical of an unmodified or modified natural resinic acid, an acyl radical of a dimerized or trimerized (C28-C72) fatty acid based dicarboxylic or tricarboxylic acid or stands for an acyl radical of a saturated or unsaturated (C8-C22) fatty acid; q is a whole number from 0 - 10, and M stands for hydrogen, an alkaline metal or an alkaline earth metal. Said polymers are used to dye hydrophobic fibre materials. The invention also relates to dyeing baths used in this context. |
