titleOfInvention Genomic sequence for the ra27/3 strain of rubella virus
abstract The complete genome of the RA27/3 vaccine strain of rubella virus has been determined and, thus, an as of yet unknown nucleic acid molecule responsible for the disease known as rubella is identified and disclosed. In addition, methods for identifying specific attenuating mutations such as those present in the RA27/3 vaccine are set forth and provide the reader with a means of identifying further attenuated strains of rubella virus.
