abstract The flame retardancy imparted to polyolefin resins by tris(trihaloneopentyl) phosphate is increased by the incorporation of a co-additive comprising a halogen containing compound which is stable at the processing temperature of the polymer. The preferred co-additives are other knowm flame retardants for polyolefins. The use of an appropriate combination of phosphate, flame retardant co-additive, and preferably on antimony trioxide or zinc borate synergist, provide polyolefin compositions which are non-blooming and achieve a V-O rating in the UL94 test.
