Process for the purification of crude aromatic polycarboxylic acids comprising one or more rings condensed with two or more carboxylic acid groups on the aromatic ring (s). Solvents containing a mixture of a main solvent and a co-solvent are used in the process. The main solvent is selected from a group containing a monocyclic compound containing two heteroatoms, an alkylamine compound and mixtures thereof; the co-solvent is selected from a group comprising water, an alcohol and mixtures of these. |
