abstract |
Cylindrical pellet green compacts of nuclear fuel powder are sintered in a microwave field for shorter periods and at lower temperatures than during conventional sintering. A microwave field (GHz) can be used without affecting the quality of the sintered pellets because the pellets (32) are transported through the microwave field (GHz) in a ceramic guiding pipe (30) with their longitudinal axis oriented in parallel, forming a column. |
