NOx-adsorbers could be used until now only in internal combustion engines with a high exhaust fume temperature, as the regeneration of the adsorber requires a high temperature. By using a metal foil as a support for the adsorption layer and by forming non-linear channels in the support, for example by twisting the same (15), a turbulent exhaust fume flow is created in a partial area of the adsorber (1), and so a good desorption of the adsorber (1) is achieved even in consumption-optimised internal combustion engines (3). |
