Compounds are disclosed having the general formula (I) H(-CH2-CR1R2)m(-CH2-CR1R3)n-H, in which R1 is H or methyl; R2 is -C(O)-Y-R4, R4 being H, methyl, ethyl or allyl; R3 is -C(O)-Y-allyl; and Y is O or NH; or in which R1 is H or C¿1-20?-alkyl; R?2¿ is H; and R3 is (-CH¿2?-CR?5=CR6-CH¿2)p-H, R?5 and R6¿ independently representing H, methyl, ethyl, chlorine, and p = 1-100; or in which R1 is H; R2 is OH or O-allyl; and R3 is O-allyl; or in which R1 is H; R2 is OH or R3, R3 being (meth)acrylate, -O-C(O)-CH=CH-COOH or -O-C(O)-CH¿2?-C(=CH2)-COOH, m is an integer from 5 to 500,000 and n is an integer from 2 to 100,000. These compounds are used as crosslinkers in particulate emulsion polymers with a glass transition temperature below 0 °C and a mean particle size from 50 to 1000 nm. |
