titleOfInvention Method for improving the adherence on mineral surfaces which contain silicon
abstract The method comprises (a) impregnating a mineral surface which contains silicon, such as a ceramic paving, with a composition comprising an aqueous solution of fluorhydric acid (0.5-6 %) and a fluorinated non-ionic surfactant (0.01-0.1 %), and (b) washing the treated surface with water. With this method it is possible to form regularly distributed microscopic concavities in the treated surface, thereby improving the wet adherence of said surfaces which, therefore, do not become slippery. This method is useful to obtain non-slipping pavings and floorings.
