titleOfInvention Two-fluid nozzle and device employing the same nozzle for freezing and drying liquid containing biological substances
abstract A two-fluid nozzle for atomizing liquid by mixing liquid and gas at a high speed wherein a desired particle size is obtained at a low pressure and a device employing the same nozzle for freezing and drying liquid containing biological substances, wherein the two-fluid nozzle has a first injection hole for injecting liquid, a second injection hole for injecting gas, the second injection hole being provided on the outer circumference of the first injection hole, a swirling means (108 or 118) provided at least on the front portion of the first injection hole for transforming liquid into a swirling flow, and a swirling means (117) provided at least on the front portion of the second injection hole for transforming gas into a swirling flow, whereby the two-fluid nozzle can atomize liquid containing biological substances at a low pressure through operation of the swirling means for transforming gas and liquid respectively into swirling flows, and is thus suitable for atomization of liquid containing biological substances.
