titleOfInvention Mesopore molecular sieve and process for the production thereof
abstract A mesopore molecular sieve having hydrocarbyl groups bonded directly to silicon atoms present in the metal oxide skeleton constituting the molecular sieve, characterized in that the content of the hydrocarbyl groups is 0.01 to 0.6 mol per mol of the metal oxide; and a process for the production of the sieve characterized by reacting a silane compound of the general formula (1) RnSiX(4-n) with a metal oxide and/or a precursor thereof in the present of a template. In said formula R: a hydrocarbyl groups selected from among C1-C16 hydrocarbyl groups optionally substituted with a group containing N, O, S, P or halogen, n: 1, 2 or 3, and X: C1-C6 alkyoxy, aryloxy, hydroxyl or halogeno, with Xs being the same or different. According to this process, a mesopore molecular sieve can be obtained in one step and the kind and content of hydrocarbyl groups are easily controllable, so that the obtained sieve exhibits excellent performances as an acid catalyst or oxidation catalyst.
