titleOfInvention Method of manufacturing polyester granules with improved photochemical and thermal stability, and its application
abstract In a method for manufacturing granules of a polyester compound with improved photochemical and thermal stability for undyed or mass-dyed polyester filaments, 0.1% to 5% by weight of an ultraviolet absorbent together with a dyestuff are mixed cold with a polyester powder. Next, this mixture is dosed with PET granules into the cooled intake zone of a twin-screw extruder, compounded, and lastly, the polymer threads are cooled in water and granulated. The polyester compound obtained provides polyester filaments with improved light-fastness. It is especially suitable for manufacturing heat-resistant and light-resistant multifilaments, monofilaments and flock for textile and industrial applications.
