abstract |
Proposed for use in cathodically precipitated electro-dip paints is an acid-free aqueous catalyst paste containing dialkyl tin oxide and a water-dilutable cationic binder and with a solids content of 30 to 70 % by wt., the paste being obtained by a) dispersing dialkyl tin oxide in an acid-free aqueous dispersion or solution of a bismuth (III) salt of a hydroxycarboxylic acid in a ratio by weight of tin to bismuth, calculated as the metal, of 1:3 to 3:1 and b) grinding the preparation thus obtained with a cationic binder in a ratio by weight of dialkyl tin oxide plus bismuth (III) salt of hydroxycarboxylic acid to cationic binder of 0.5:1 to 6:1. |
