abstract | The invention concerns thermoplastic moulding compounds containing a) 5-95 parts by wt. of polyolefin selected from the group comprising polyethylene and polypropylene; b) 5-65 parts by wt. of uncrosslinked ethylene/propylene copolymer rubber with an ethylene content of 45-80 % by wt. relative to the total amount of rubber and/or 5-65 parts by wt. of cycloolefin copolymer with an ethylene content of 20-50 % by wt. relative to the cycloolefin copolymer and/or 5-65 parts by wt. of polyolefin elastomer made of unsaturated ethylene/octene copolymer with a melt flow index of 0.5-18 g/10 min; c) 15-60 parts by wt. of an ionomeric copolymer of ethylene and an .alpha.,.beta.unsaturated carboxylic acid or the anhydride of such a carboxylic acid, the ionomer containing carboxylic acid groups neutralized with metal ions selected from the group comprising sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and zinc; d) 065 parts by wt. of an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated ethylenic carboxylic acid compound, or an ester thereof, selected from the group comprising acrylic acid and methacrylic acid; e) 0.01-5 parts by wt. of an epoxy compound of formula (I) in which n = 0 to 10, R1 = hydrogen or an alkyl, aralkyl or aryl group and R2 is an alkyl, aralkyl, alkylalkoxy, cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl group and R3 is a group of formula (II) when n 0 but R3 is hydrogen when n = 0, or mixtures of these compounds; f) 0.01-5 parts by wt. of a carboxylic acid of the formula (III) R4-CH=CH-COOH in which R4 is a phenyl, naphthyl, cyclohexyl or cyclohexenyl group, or C1-C4 alkyl and/or alkoxy derivatives of the compound of formula (III). The invention also concerns a method of producing a thermoplastic moulding compound of this kind and its use in the manufacture of mouldings. |
