abstract The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of cellulose fibres, during which a solution of cellulose in a tertiary amine oxide is extruded through holes of a spinneret, thereby forming filaments. The extruded filaments are conveyed through an air gap, a regeneration bath and over a take-off device used to draw the filaments, the drawn filaments being subsequently processed to form cellulose fibres. During subsequent processing, said drawn filaments are subjected to a tensile stress in the longitudinal direction which is not greater than 5.5 cN/tex.
