abstract |
A stock which is excellent in stability in the spinning process, has a small light and shade contrast of color dyed, a natural mottling feeling, and provides a feeling of fine irregularity on the cloth surface, thereby providing a feeling of visual and tactual dryness. Also disclosed are a stock and a product which are good in color fastness. An irregular thickness yarn is a polyamide multifilament yarn which has a thickness irregularity of 5 to 20 Uster normal U % in the longitudinal direction thereof and a standard deviation of stress at the 40 % elongation point on the stress-strain curve of 0.3 g/d or less. The yarn is manufactured by false-twisting a polyamide non-drawn multifilament yarn having a double refraction factor Δn of 20 x 10-3 or less between a feed roller and a draw roller, drawing the resulting yarn at a low draw ratio of 1.5 to 2.5, and thermally setting the resulting yarn at 100 to 200 °C. |
