abstract A control system (10) is provided for monitoring and regulating fluid pressure at a remote and/or potentially hazardous location (12) along the length of a fluid flow conduit (14), without requiring a pressure sensor device at the remote site. The control system (10) comprises a controller (18) responsive to fluid pressure (20) and flow rate (22) readings taken at a convenient and/or safe location (16) along the length of the flow conduit (14), to derive fluid pressure at the remote site (12). The controller (18) provides a display (24) of the derived pressure and/or operates a control valve (30) at the safe site (16) to regulate the pressure at the remote site (12).
