abstract A light transmitting article for providing enhanced colour perception said article being treated with a light absorbing composition selected to reduce transmission of ultraviolet light and harmful blue light, the light absorbing composition being such that the transmission over a 10 nm wide band centred on 480 nm is at least approximately 2.0 times the integrated visible light transmission of the lens element; and the transmission over a 10 nm wide band centred on 630 nm is between approximately 1.05 to 2.0 times the integrated visible light transmission of the lens element.
