A formic acid ester undergoes transesterification by a hydroxy-containing compound in the presence of a tertiary amine as the transesterification catalyst forming a formic acid ester different from the formic acid ester used as the reactant, and a hydroxy-containing compound different from the hydroxy-containing compound used as the reactant. |
