titleOfInvention | Method and device for applying sprayable lacquers to the inner surface of unilaterally open packaging, and the corresponding internally lacquered packaging |
abstract | The invention relates to a new method and a new device for applying sprayable lacquers to the inner surface of unilaterally open packaging, in particular of drinks cans, during the production of packaging, in particular drinks cans, in which method and device use is made on the production line of new types of spray heads (1) which have a dispensing head (6) with at least three spray nozzles (9'a,9'b,9'c). The atomising cone axes (13'a,13'b,13'c) coming from these spray nozzles are arranged so as to be concave, i.e. they diverge or do not overlap. The spray nozzles (9'a,9'b,9'c) are mounted on the dispensing head (6) sides facing the packaging opening. The sides concerned incline towards the axis of rotation of the turning, unilaterally open packaging with the result that the atomising cones which come from the spray nozzles (9'a,9'b,9'c) hit at an angle the neck of the packaging 'neck', the packaging body directly behind the 'neck' ('neck shadow'), the packaging body, the inwardly-arched packaging bottom ('dome') and the bearing ring integrated into the packaging bottom ('rim'). Uncoated parts of the inner surface are then completely coated using a conventional spray head (1). However, it is also possible firstly to coat using a conventional spray head and subsequently a new type of spray head. The new process produces inner coatings in a very purposeful manner with either a uniform or substantially uniform thickness, or different thicknesses depending on the area. |
