abstract In a device for drafting an inserted weft yarn (14), in particular for an air nozzle mechanical loom, a channel (5) into which an air blowing nozzle opens follows a weft inserting channel (4) of a weaving reed (3). The air blowing nozzle is oriented towards a branching channel that branches off from said channel (5) in a substantially perpendicular direction. At least one deflecting point for the weft yarn (14) is formed by a wear-resistant element (7, 10, 11) arranged transversely to the insertion direction (A) of the weft yarn.
