Polyhydroxy alkyl amidamine oxides |
abstract |
The amine oxides described correspond to formula (1) in which RCO is an aliphatic acyl radical with 6 to 22 carbon atoms, Z is a linear polyhydroxy hydrocarbon radical with at least 3 possibly oxalkylated hydroxyl groups, m is a whole number from 1 to 4, R1 is C1 tp C4 alkyl or C2 to C4 hydroxy alkyl and R2 is C1 to C4 hydroxy alkyl. The amine oxides and the aqueous, alcoholic or aqueous-alcoholic solutions are produced by the oxidation of corresponding tertiary amine compounds with hydrogen peroxide. The novel amine oxides and their solutions are suitable for the production of surface-active agents for hair and body care. |
