abstract Polyethylene is used for fractional precipitation of proteins and peptides. Protein and peptide fractions obtained by the PEG fractionation methods generally contains residual PEG. The invention relates to a process for removing contaminating PEG from a solution of proteins or peptides, which process comprises adsorption of PEG in the protein or peptide solution to activated carbon.
