The invention features a method and device for generating a high-resolution digital image (80) from a relatively low-resolution digital image (76) generated using a standard detector. The method includes the step of first generating a digitized image, determining a point spread function containing sub-pixels having closer spacing than the points in the digitized image, selecting a vector c, minimizing a function [psi(c)], then reconstructing the image by substituting the minimized value of c in a function F(X, Y, Z). |
