titleOfInvention | Concentrated aqueous lysine propionate solution and method of preparation thereof |
abstract | A concentrated aqueous solution comprising lysine and propionic acid, and containing at least about 45 % by weight lysine solute. The solution is prepared by loading protonated lysine onto a cation exchange resin and eluting with propionic acid. The concentrate is advantageously used to prepare an animal feed composition comprising solid nutrients and containing between about 0.05 % and about 0.4 % by weight lysine, and between about 0.02 % and about 1 % by weight propionic acid, in a weight proportion of propionic acid to lysine of between about 0.5 and about 10. Also provided are concentrated aqueous solutions of lysine propionate containing lysine solute in the range from about 45 % to about 66 % by weight useful for preparing animal feed compositions. A bulk station for delivery of lysine propionate concentrate and propionic acid in any desired ratio is also disclosed. |
