titleOfInvention | Nanoparticulate diagnostic triiodo benzoate derivatives as x-ray contrast agents for blood pool and lymphatic system imaging |
abstract | This invention relates to triiodo benzoate derivatives useful as X-ray contrast agents for diagnostic imaging the blood pool, liver, spleen, and/or lymph system of a mammal, said derivatives having formula (I), wherein X is H, NR1R2 or CONR1R3, R1 is H or alkyl, R?2 is COR3, R3¿ is H, alkyl or aryl; or when Z is OR3 or (IA), Z can also be hydroxy-substituted alkyl or a steroidally derived moiety, R4 is H, alkyl, aryl or CH(R5)CO2R1 where R5 is H, methyl or benzyl or the like such that said last moiety is derived from a naturally occurring amino acid, Y is NR1R2 or CONR1R3 and Z is OR3, (IA), alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, or NR1R4. This invention further relates to x-ray contrast compositions comprising such agents. |
