This invention is a spinal fixation device (12, 14, 26) for stabilizing vertebrae. A hollow screw (14) is inserted into a hole saw recess (50) in each adjoining vertebrae. A channel is cut into the vertebrae into which a joining rod (12) is inserted such that no part of the device protrudes above the bone. A locking cap (26) is used to secure the rod (12) to the screws (14). |
