abstract |
An antibacterial zeolite causing little discoloration which is obtained by treating the surface of zeolite having an antibacterial metal carried thereon with 0.5 to 20 % by weight (based on the zeolite) of a composition comprising: (A) 100 parts by weight of a hydrolyzable silane and/or its oligomer containing from 10 to 100 % by weight of a hydrolyzable silane having an aryl group and/or its oligomer; (B) 1 to 1.000 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane having basic nitrogen atoms; and (C) 0.2 to 250 parts by weight of a water-soluble acid capable of forming a salt with component (B). The antimicrobial zeolite scarcely causes any discoloration when an organic polymer which contains the zeolite is exposed to heat, sunlight, etc. |
