abstract Guide catheter incorporating a braidless construction having increased performance characteristics for catheterization procedures.The guide catheter may include a guide wire, inner or outer guide for positioning the guide catheter within the patient's vascular system. The guide wire consists of a core wire and a non-metallic coating. In another embodiment a guide tube is used to be inserted into the catheter lumen. A locking device secures the proximal ends of the catheter and the guide tube during catheter placement.
