A polystyrene polymer crosslinked by 1.5 % to 8 % with divinylbenzene based on the total weight of the polymer and having a minimum weight average molecular weight of 10000 wherein 50 to 100 % of the aromatic groups of the polystyrene are substituted by at least one -(R?1)n-NHR?2¿ group wherein R1 represents a straight or branched chain alkylene or cycloalkylene group of 1 to 6 carbon atoms and n is 0 or 1 and NHR2 represents a guanidino group of formula -NH-C(=NH)NH¿2? or a biguanidino group of formula -NH-C(=NH)-NH-C(=NH)-NH2 for use in therapy. |
