abstract The invention relates to aqueous dispersions of alcohols, the oil phase of which contains alcohols which are solid at room temperature and also optionally esterified glycerine polyglycol ethers or polyglycerine polyglycol ethers which are liquid at room temperature, and the use of such aqueous dispersions as anti-foaming agents. The anti-foaming agents are distinguished by their high spontaneous and very good long-term action over broad temperature ranges.
