Calcitonin salmon analogues, their preparation, medicinal use and use as analytical agents |
abstract |
The present invention relates to novel substituted salmon calcitonin (salcatonin) analogues as indicated in formula (I) wherein R1 is -Cys-S-H or -Cys-S-OH or ester thereof or ethers of alkyl groups having from 2 to 5 carbon atoms or pharmaceutically acceptable salts or individual isomers thereof and R2 is hydrogen or hydroxy or esters thereof or ethers of alkyl groups having from 2 to 5 carbon atoms or pharmaceutically acceptable salts or individual isomers thereof or R2 is acetoamidomethyl or equivalents thereof. Their analogues have medicinal properties for the prevention or treatment of diseases such as osteoporosis, hypercalcemia and Paget's disease and are useful as a reference for analytical testing. |
