abstract |
Stable dispersible particles consisting essentially of a crystalline drug substance having a surface modifier absorbed on the surface thereof in an amount sufficient to maintain an effective average particle size of less than about 400 nm are prepared by providing a drug substance, depyrogenating grinding media, mixing the drug substance, grinding media and autoclavin and adding a surface modifier either during autoclaving or after autoclaving and subsequently wet milling. Pharmaceutical compositions containing the particles exhibit unexpected bioavailability and are useful in methods of treating mammals. |
