There are disclosed processes for the recovery of a desired fermentation product, the process using a salt and surfactant mixture to form a two-phase system wherein one phase is a surfactant-rich phase containing the desired product and the second phase is a salt-rich phase. The recovery process is particularly useful for whole or clarified fermentation broths comprising hydrophilic products. |
