| abstract |
The subject invention pertains to a method of binding proteins and double-stranded DNA to the same membrane matrix. The DNA bound to the membrane matrix remains in double-stranded form. The subject invention further concerns an assay procedure for detecting antibodies, such as autoimmune antibodies, in a biological sample that are immunoreactive with the proteins and double-stranded DNA attached to a membrane matrix. The subject invention provides a single assay system that is rapid, sensitive and allows for the determination of antinuclear antibody specificities which can be used to aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of autoimmune diseases. |
