abstract Light-induced change in a side-chain polymer that contains at least one photoinducibly reconfigurable side group and at least one permanently form-anisotropic side group can be intensified by heating to a temperature that lies between the glass transition temperature and the clearing temperature. This effect opens up new dimensions for optical data storage.
