abstract | This invention relates to a polymer blend comprising: a) component (A) consisting essentially of a linear, water-dissipatable polyester having an inherent viscosity of at least about 0.1 as measured in a 60/40 parts by weight solution of phenol/tetrachloroethane at 25 °C and at a concentration of 0.5 gram of polyester in 100 ml of solvent, the polyester containing substantially equimolar proportions of acid moiety repeating units (100 mole %) to hydroxy moiety repeating units (100 mole %), the polyester comprising repeating units of components (1, 2, 3 and 4), as follows wherein all stated mole percentages are based on the total of all acid and hydroxy moiety repeating units being equal to 200 mole %: 1) about 90 to about 97 mole % isophthalic acid, 2) about 3 to about 10 mole % 5-sulfoisophthalic acid, 3) about 70 to about 85 mole % 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol, and 4) about 15 to about 30 mole % diethylene glycol, and b) component (B) comprising a carboxylic acid. |
