An aqueous, alcohol or aqueous-alcohol based hair fixing agent containing: (A) 0.1 to 20 wt.% of 50 to 100 % neutralised shellac and (B) 0.1 to 20 wt.% of hydroxypropyl chitosane, hydroxybutyl chitosane, hydroxypropyl cellulose and/or hydroxybutyl cellulose. As it leaves little residue, the agent of the invention does not damage the hair and gives it a good gloss. Besides facilitating styling, the agent holds well after the hair has been washed. It is easily sprayed and resists atmospheric humidity. It is also distinguished by comparatively short drying times. |
