abstract A device for depolymerising old and waste plastics has a closed reactor and a recycling system connected to the reactor for gently heating the content of the reactor. Also disclosed is a process for depolymerising old and waste plastics. In order to protect the recycling system from erosion caused by solid particles of the reactor content, the reactor has an integral ascending section for separating the coarse solid particles through which the reactor content drawn into the recycling system flows at a correspondingly increased settling speed before entering the discharge duct.
